Working Method

Method
  1. Place all ingredients into mixing bowl.
  2. Mix for ± 2 minutes slow and ± 7 minutes fast, depending on type of mixer used.
  3. Scale vetkoek at 100g each.
  4. Place in proofer for 50 minutes.
  5. Let vetkoek stand outside proofer for a further 10 minutes before frying.
  6. Fry in hot oil at 170° C till both sides are golden brown.

Tips and tricks

  • Do not place yeast on top of premix as the salt in the premix will weaken the yeast.
